Default Lost Channels? The Memory Erase Scan

Sometimes after multiple scans or if a station changes actual channels (RF Channels not the one on the display).

1) Remove the antenna from Converter box or TV
2) Do a full scan with the antenna unplugged
3) Unplug the converter box or TV for 5 minutes
4) Plug the antenna back
5) Do a full scan now with the antenna back in

This should wipe out anything wrong "stuck" in memory.

This is the FCC's "Double Secret Channel Scan!" All kidding aside, listen to the man -- this does the trick.

This is pretty much the process I had to perform two months ago when two of Denver's stations flash-cut digital operations from temporary UHF assignments to their original allocations on 7 and 9, and again on June 13 when a third station migrated. The only thing I didn't do was detach the antenna coax, but thankfully, it worked anyway.

Default Still missing some channels (11 & 13)

I'm LA/Orange Cnty area. After the reset (as Piggie's instruction), 2 of my TVs got all of those lost channels (7, 11, 13). However, my the other 2 TVs (Samsung) hooked up to same antenna still missing 11 and 13. Those 2 TV actually are newer TVs than the two which got the complete channels, so I assume they must have the better tuner.

Right now I can think of only one reason: the signal for the 2 channels (11 & 13) are too weak (I can see how weak they are compare to the other channels on the signal strength on those TVs that work) and my 2 TVs which missing channels are farther from the antenna and sharing a splitter, which produces loss in signal strength.

I've tried to turn the antenna to different directions and the current direction that I have is the one that get best on overall channels.

Please help if you can!!!!

More evidence in support of the converter box tuner is better vs. TV tuner reception war. Do you have any amps connected, pre-amp or distrubution amp?

go to TV Fool and enter your information, Start a new post with the results you receive from there, also let us know what kind of antenna you have, and what kind of converter box or TV you have. Without that information, there's no way to really help your reception issues.
