Which one is best? This frank comparison, type by type, will help you choose an antenna to solve your television problems.

If you find it difficult to read, I can upload larger pics. Should I?

Ive been looking for a Channel Master Traveling Wave which is prominetly featured on the cover, now I know what its called.

I really like the Dipole and Reflector, Inline, V-Beam Conical/Fan, and Tri-pole with Screen.

This seems to be focussed on VHF and not UHF. Bowties were around for UHF at this time...among others.

Retro Antennas! I bet you could find a bunch of those old antennas stashed away in barns and cellars in the midwest.

Some of the biggest monsters of that era weighed well north of 20 pounds. My back starts to ache when I merely think about the effort required to erect one. Also got a kick out of the text in that book describing the difficulty of capturing signals strong enough to render a good color picture. Sounds rather familiar, doesn't it? We're back to the future, alright!

Thanks for that, EV. I vote for uploading a few good readable examples.

Will do Don, Im working on a 24" widescreen and its a bit of a effort to read the pics, so I was thinking it was a bit small.

Isn't it funny that the bigger the screen, the smaller the writing and pictures are on it. Some of the resolutions on LCDs are ridiculous.

I think there's one of these in town, too:

I'll try to get by the house it's on and snap a pic.
