I built a couple of those hanger antennas that you see on you tube, they didnt really do any good and was actually less than my rabbit ears.
The rabbit ears, although better than my solutions so far do tend to suffer from freeze up off and on, thats why I was looking to improve my situation.
I was hoping that these antennas would do the trick as i researched it a bit on e-bay and the sellers of these seem to get pretty much good reports on them. Plus the subdivision where I live restricts rooftop antennas and these seemed small enough to kinda blend in.
I do have a tree line to the north of me, in the general direction of most of the towers that might hinder me a bit too.
I was hoping this would be a small time investment for me since i gave comcast the boot, but it looks like that might not be the case..
I hate to see these two new antennas just waste away and not get used, since I can only return for exchange, not refund..
But hey, I do appreciate all the great words of advise out there, and will look for more.....thanks.........Randy

Most of those Youtube designs are marginal at best. The dimensions they use arent the best for a good performing antenna.

No metal roofing or siding? How about foil backed insulation?

Manufactured homes often have foil-backed insulation behind the vinyl siding.

Subdivisions cannot restrict OTA TV antennas if no more than 12' above your roof line and not in a historic district. As long as it's on your property that isn't used by anyone else.

The roof is shingled. I am aware of the antenna law. I own the mobile home but rent the lot. I dont wanna tick off the powers that be by putting something huge in the air.
It doesnt have the foil back insulation as I have been in the wall doing an electrical repair.

the channel I pick up the best is CBS digital channel 36, which is also the farthest one away at 51 miles. I even can get that one with the hanger antenna.

I stand by all my recommendations.

Channel Master 4221 HD with Reflector Removed and Winegard 269 amplifier specifically that amplifier.

Radio Shack 1634 Omni (also sold as the AntennaCraft OmniState) which seems to be the cheapest of this sort. At the bottom of the linked page their are hotlinks and a chart of these type antennas. These would be very low key as well for your neighborhood, neighbors, landlord.

Terk HDTVi for an indoor solution that may be successful for you.
