Question Antenna install and power lines

Getting ready to install a Clearstream C5 antenna that will point to the east of my house. My plan is to put it on my garage, however, if I have it up in the air 20-30 feet, it will point straight into the powerlines that run down my alley. I would guess the power lines would be 20 feet away. How bad will this mess with my reception? Will this even be a problem?

    energyzer,

I have a similar situation: one of my antennas looks across trackless trolley bus lines about 75 feet away. Bare wire, 400 hZ AC that wipes out AM car radios. When we have a freeze, the ice that builds on those wires gets scraped off by the carbon blocks and there can be a wonderful electrical lightning storm behind the busses where the trolleys contact the wires and that wipes out home AM radio. I have not seen any interference in my digital TV reception do to this.

Power lines won't normally interfere with DTV reception, especially if they are 120 volt supply lines from a pole mounted transformer. Some higher voltage distribution lines can cause electrical noise which could in some extreme cases, cause reception issues. The main issue is CAN YOUR ANTENNA TOUCH THESE LINES IF IT WERE TO FALL DOWN, OR GET AWAY FROM YOU DURING INSTALLATION AND TOUCH THE LINES ????????? YOU COULD BE FATALLY ELECTROCUTED IF THAT IS THE CASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
