Roush-Fenway driver Carl Edwards continues to expand his horizons especially via his love of music. For the second time in two years, the 99-car driver is appearing in a music video. This time around, Edwards is the featured player at the side of country music star, Sara Evans.
Yesterday, Evans' new song "Slow Me Down" debuted on Yahoo! Music. It can be seen here:
The song is the artist's first single release in three years and is expected to be part of her upcoming seventh album that she is still recording.
Edwards, who is currently 10th in the Sprint Cup standings, 68 points behind the leader, also was seen in last year's "Bait a Hook" video by singer Justin Moore. That video had a much more comical feel to it, with Edwards shown driving a sporty car, a truck, and a speed boat with a pit crew on hand to get the boat ready for the water. Even the ending of the video had a bit of a humorous verbal exchange between Moore and Edwards.
The Evans video, however, has Edwards sporting his acting chops, at least in dramatic actions and expressions. He has no dialog, but is seen in various moods to illustrate the song's lyrics.
Last Sunday, Edwards finished 17th at Talladega, pretty much eliminating any shot he has at winning the championship this year. He'll go for a better finish this Sunday as the racers take on the Martinsville Speedway, a short track, in Virginia.
