Default Family guy's early pre-cancellation seasons

Family Guy seems to be more popular than ever over the past several years, and chances are that it will probably stay popular for at least a few more years. But what some of the shows more recent fans may not remember is that Family Guy was actually once something of a "cult classic" TV series that had a devoted, but somewhat small audience for the shows first few seasons. Because of lack of people watching the show was eventually canceled by Fox, and was off the air for a few years before beginning a comeback. Unfortunately, the writing just doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good since the show came back, or at least that's my opinion.

Did anyone else here watch the show before it was canceled the 1st time?

I never heard of Family Guy until just last year when I hooked up my DTV box, & watched it in syndication. I was working a lot that I didn't watch a lot of TV before then. I have since collected as much of the Family Guy DVD's that I can afford to buy.

Yes I had watched it during the first run, but didn't it go to cable TV back then? Seems it was cartoon network maybe? I know it is on before adult swim. Family Guy is okay, there are some episodes that really are not that great, but that's the same with many shows even the Simpsons.

I may have already posted this before, but I think it has really went downhill. The writing is not horrendous but really it is just not as funny as it used to be, or maybe I just got tired of it.
