Probably need to make at least a temp page with the list alphabetical, so it can be checked when myself and others think of one to list.

This one I just used in a post

PSA = Public Service Announcement

others that hit me:

FTA = Free To Air
EAS = Emergency Alert System
RGB = Red Green Blue
LCD = Liquid Crystal Display
FCC = Federal Communications Commission
SECAM = Sequential Color with Memory (translated from French)
CRTC = Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission
HDMI = High-Definition Multimedia Interface
VGA = Video Graphics Array
MTS = Multichannel Television Sound
AC-3 = Arc Consistency Algorithm #3
MPEG = Motion Picture Experts Group
DBS = Direct Broadcast Satellites
8VSB = 8-level Vestigial Sideband Modulation
DVB/T = Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial
ISDB = Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting
CC = Closed Captioning
OTA = Over The Air
YPrPb = Code where Y= Luminance, Pr is Y-Red and Pb is Y-Blue
YIQ = Code where Y=Luminance, I=In Phase chrominance and Q=Quadrature amplitude modulation
YUV = About the same as YPrPb.

On another idea, should the Acronym page also be a Glossary?
I do agree an acronym page is more important than a glossary, because you can goolge a phrase and get better results than an acronym.

I think the Playboy channel does use STD = Streaming Testosterone Distribution

I have been leaving a window open for the list, as I come across acronyms, I add them. Some I had to look up myself! So a list will be good.

Yeah, well when Ted Olson and David Boies agree it's a matter of civil rights, the mice can lay with the lions. Well until the lions get hungry.

==========

New ones

HAAT = Height Above Average Terrain
AGL = Above Ground Level (sometimes HAGL)
AMSL = Above Mean Sea Level
FAA = Federal Aviation Administration
CDBS = Consolidated DataBase System (used by FCC)
ULS = Universal Licensing System

STL = Studio Transmitter Link
IFB = Interruptible Feedback or Interruptible Foldback

IFB is one of those that begs for a glossary, as the name means little to someone never in a TV studio.
