Jay Leno has overstayed his welcome on TV and it's time for him to GO HOME. Thanks to him and the incompetent network he's on, NBC now claims it has no room for adult, scripted drama. Unfortunately, "Southland" is the first casualty of the "Jay Leno Show". "Southland" was a well done, quality show, that got good reviews and was renewed for a second season after it's brief, seven episode first season last Spring. NBC renewed for a second season and the show shot six episodes, before the
Nothing
But
Crap network decided that "Southland" was "too gritty" and "too dark" for 9 PM, and canceled the show before a single episode of the second season could even air.
WTF? A) You knew what you were getting when you ordered it, you'd already aired seven episodes and
B) Who's fault is it that you suddenly "have no room" for that kind of scripted drama? You put on that stale ******* Jay Leno on five ************ing nights a week at 10 PM, your NBC O&O and affiliate newscasts are suffering because they don't have a strong lead in and now "The Tonight Show" is suffering and by chain reaction so is "Late Night". Not to mention that now your other shows like Law & Order that used to be on at 10 PM are now suffering at 9 PM and other networks are airing shows like Criminal Minds (which someone labeled the "serial killer of the week show") on CBS at 9 PM and are doing just fine.
NBC has like, what? Two good shows on the air? "30 Rock", and for other people, "The Office". That's it. NBC and it's management are an utter unmitigated failure. Of course, someone like Bicker will blame the consumer, the public, or the weather instead....
