Default Still Zoning with the Twilight

No matter how many times I see these episodes , The Twilight Zone still does its magic. For decades I've watched them, and still I watch them. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet is starting right now. That's one of the ones with William Shatner. Good, intriguing episode.

For me, The Twilight Zone is one of the all time classics in American television. Rod Serling sure new how to tell a story and keep people locked into what was happening.

I miss good shows like that. You never quite knew where they were headed. I love the Martian one in the diner.

Not long after the Twilight Zone ended Rod hosted another horror anthology called Night Gallery. It was no Twilight Zone imo but did have it's moments.

One particular Night Gallery episode I vaguely recall was about an earwig getting into some jerks ear and eating it's way through his brain and out his other ear. The poor sap had to be tied to a bed for months while the earwig made it's way through because the pain and itching inside his brain made the guy crazy.

Finally it crawled out and the dude was ok again. At least ok until the doctor informed him that the earwig was a female and that it had laid eggs inside his brain.

OH yes, I watched Night Gallery, too, but like you said, it wasn't the same. I think the pilot movie may have been the best. Joan Crawford was a witch, but she was great in that. I love the Roddy McDowell episode. Porterboy? I'm not sure how to spell the character's name. Anyway, it was great.

Ewww...but that's what I love about Serling's work. To me, Night Gallery was just a creepier version of Twilight Zone. Funny how you hear so little about Night Gallery nowadays.

Night Gallery doesn't get near the respect that Twilight Zone does. It's considered a B-version of TZ. Still, there were some eerie shows on there. I watched.
