Most of what you're calling "standards" were arbitrary and capricious strictures that really served no social purpose. You can "speak nice" and still be uncharitable-in-fact, still foster discrimination and persecution, still cause harm to people and society through your actions and inactions. What I hope to see is less focus on the trivial aspects of societal standards, such as the inane focus on naughty words, and more focus on the important aspect of societal standards, such as providing fair and equitable opportunities for all, with regard to all essentials of life; such as with regard to peace and international security; such as respect for our environment, safeguarding it for our future generations; etc. I consider concerns about the word "douche" to be nothing more than cynical and/or myopic distraction from the things that people should really be concerned about.
