Duck Dynasty: Fake Reality

Tuned into another A&E reality show tonight called Duck Dynasty.

Premise is that a family became rich after making duck calling devices, and the cameras follow them around in their day to day activities.

The episode I watched tonight was about one of the brothers buying a Winery.



Fake.

Whole show seems setup, from the one-liners to the whole idea of buying a winery without any experience. The brother who bought the winery claims that he bought it online, site unseen. On top of that, they send out invitations for friends and family to do a wine tasting 30 days after the winery purchase. When the family goes to check out the property, the grapes weren't growing and the wine professional they hired to help out tells them it'll be 6 months to a year before they can expect any kind of completed wine.

Anyone see this piece of work yet?

Duck Dynasty even has their own merchandizing now with shirts, cookbooks, and fake beards. lol.

Yeah I saw it and thought the same. I am even wondering if they even gave a duck call business because how the hell can 3 or 4 guys sitting in a work shop cracking on each other make enough duck calls to supply this nation coast to coast, and possibly global. There is no way that can be done by 4 guys and not a factory full of employees and machines.

No the duck call company is real!!! all the boys,who are now men, that i grew up with have 100 of their duck calls!!!

The Robertsons are real and the Duck Commander company is real. But practically everything else is FAKE. The winery does exist here in Ouachita parish but it isn't for sale. The big sporting goods company office shown on one of the first episodes was just an office here in town(Monroe, LA). The house that they looked at to buy in another episode is NOT for sale.

Duck Commander and Buck Commander are real. The winery is a local winery, but not for sale or sold to them, the wine expert was the actual owner. When they get in the helicopter and the caption says Waco, Texas, it is actually Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, La. The house they show Will lives in is not his. The house they were going to buy is located in Luna, and is not for sale.

Regardless... the show is a total hoot. Wife and I have to freeze the show and back it up to see what we missed because tears of laughter block the eyeballs. We have several friends that resemble these guys and one got a bit annoyed he got compared. Now all I can think about when I see him is this show.

For pure gut busting entertainment, the show is a winner. Who cares about the logistics of it all... it's entertainment and beats the snot out of Dancing wif the Stars...

It is on tv... so there is some fake stuff to it but for the most part it's real I met one of the guys at the shot show a couple years ago and the real duck commander is willies dad he has been making videos and calls for years as far as the big outdoors company I'm guessing it was academy there out of tx.... And for anyone who doesn't the think the is some kind of set up for every show like this on tv your a retard ha

This show is amazing. Totally hilarious, much better than the other shows like those juice heads from up north.

They are a family of hunters that decided to sell their handmade calls. My family has known them since before they began their business 40 years ago. Duck calls cannot be machine made. Each one has to be tuned by hand and ear to be able to produce the desired sound. I love how people are so judgmental when they know absolutely nothing.

Well I think it has great potential to be real fella's! My grandparents in the Amana Colonies, IA have 4 employees and build furniture for across the nation! So duck calls, which are a lot smaller...there are ways!!

For all you morons out there. Half of everything on tv is set up or fake. Duck commander is very real and yes those are the real employees. There are a few more employees that arent on tv but the business is real. The rest is just for tv!!

I have run camera for a few shows over the years and there is no "reality" tv show that is all real. If we showed you only reality it would bore the piss out of you and nobody would watch. If you want "real" watch a documentary, if you want entertainment, watch "reality" tv.
