A lie? We're discussing TV here DTVuser2009, deaths included. It's a touchy subject I guess.

I called him a jerk and loud mouth scum bag when he was alive. I always hit mute or changed the channel.
Ok, now he is gone, granted he is no longer a loud mouth. So in a sense he is better now in my opinion.

I just don't appreciate anyone spouting speculative gossip about someone, especially after they're gone. heck the last thing i'd expect from even the local news is this drug card once again. they had the nerve to do it with Jackson long before toxicology results came in (and i'm not too sure if they have yet, but it didn't stop Randy Moore of Fox 7 News from saying such meaningless drivel) and i'm sure Billy's family is getting an earful of this, and i don't find it respectful and not even close to the truth. with Jackson no longer getting coverage now they pick on the most recent one, Mays. and i find it highly insulting that even News would try such inane tabloid-esque tactics.
They knew what killed Billy long before this drug myth started. it was online, on the news, and even at the scene. they even talked to the airline in question and it was proven he died from head trauma. now they have the nerve to spout this ridiculous BS long after, and once again another celebrity is considered a drug addict, with zero proof of any possession nor any history. only a flawed test. does anyone know how easy it is to fake out autopsy results? and why perform one when they already knew the cause of death?
That's like trying to perform an autopsy on a victim murdered by a shot through the head. like, duh! he died from a bullet to the brain. that's such CSI BS.
But that doesn't stop it from being spread by those who hated billy as some sort of last battle. guys, he's dead. the commercials are still on and the guy's dead. why not just let it go already?!
Why is 'drugs' always to blame for celebrity deaths when it's hardly true? why? there's 1,000,000's of ways any human can die. why is the 'drug' card so easy to assume without facts? tons of so-called 'sources' can spout the same rumor, even well-known ones. when i see a source that's viable and one not just speculating and/or relies on real concrete proof vs. circumstantial evidence, i'll believe it. but i am so sick of blaming celebrity deaths on drugs.
I would assume you'd feel it disrespectful to be remembered as a druggie after your own deaths, esp if it wasn't true. so why put such beliefs on others? this isn't a mod talking his opinion, but honestly, does anyone realize how ridiculous it is that it even scrolls on the news ticker? i mean this was Billy Mays. sure he was an annoying commercial pitchman. but drugs? come on! they knew how he died (even if tragic and ironic, like being beaned by a coconut-the last thing you'd expect) weeks ago. why start this gossip now? i'm not blaming anyone here for starting it, i saw it last night on Fox 7 News (which i use as a white noise filler until Frasier comes on) on the ticker and thought 'now that's really stupid and funny, with Jackson no longer top news they try this stunt!' but of all places, this forum was the last i figured such tabloid news would spread.
Here's some real facts:
1. Autopsy results can be fake or unreliable.
2. Skilled people can also fake or fool polygraph tests, making those unlikely in determining a case of lie or truth, and therefore not viable proof to any matter.
tests such as those can be wrong. they're not really good at proving anything. when they find a crack pipe or even an ounce of ACTUAL cocaine, i'll believe it. until then all they got is flawed and/or faked results. or even intentionally faked results, but then that would invoke conspiracy thinking and i don't go there.
And on top of this crock report, now they are scaring people with the H1N1 flu again. it's a frakking flu. next thing we'll hear is the next doomsday on 2012. sheesh. didn't we learn from 6/6/06? what about Conficker? who writes this stuff and how does it end up on news coverage?!

ok, the drugs didn't kill him. It was the complications attributed to the drugs. I doubt there is some great conspiracy or smear campaign again Billy Mays. Seriously.

 Your bad piggie.
I never had much respect for Billy Mays because most of the products he pushed were complete garbage. That's why they don't sell them in grocery stores or hardware stores because the products can't sell themselves, that's where the loudmouth sales guy comes in, and notice how they're always priced between $10-$25? That's the sweet spot where American's say to themselves,
Well, if it works great, if not, oh well, I'm only out $xx.xx dollars.
People who work on perfecting their craft while keeping their self respect earn points in my book, no matter their financial success.
