Default The Show Anyone Responsible for Kids Should Watch ...

I used to say anyone with kids should watch, and then I thought about babysitters, and then it went to family and friends who take care of kids, and then educators ... and, well, it grew. I only just started watching this show recently but have seen several now, and I'm convinced that if you deal with kids, you should watch it.

The show is ...

Supernanny, not to be confused with those nanny shows on Fox.

Supernanny takes basic principles and applies them to each family situation. It's wonderful. It shows how patience and consistency pay off. I'm a believer!

I love this show because there are always ideas that I can pick up on. This should be required viewing for anyone who has kids. Parents are just to lacking in discipline nowadays.

I think that it should be seen by folks before they have kids. I would never say that my parenting skills or kids are perfect, but I just cannot believe what some of these people let their kids get away with!

I have a friend who has a wonderful daughter, but she gets away with murder, especially with her grandparents. My friend is always chastising her mother for letting her get away with things, and yet the daughter gets away with a ton with mom, too. I'm always telling her she needs to watch this show. The problem is that she doesn't want to admit she doesn't discipline like she should. It's all her. You have to want to see it before you can want to change it. So, the daughter keeps causing her to be late for work because she won't get up in the morning. They've just moved and I've told her that she'd better get control of it. A new employer will fire her in a second if she's late 2 to 3 times a week as she has been.

Oh well -- I'm venting, because I care about both of them, but I'm helpless.

Kids will always behave based upon the parents expectations or lack of. If you teach them early on what appropriate behavior is, they will most likely follow. If you let them get away with murder, then you'll end up with a huge challenge on your hands.
