I think youve made some bad assumptions and or generalizations there. But my assertion that KenH is not tolerant of people who advocate ATSC's other potentials besides HD broadcast on that particular forum is true. Id say that to his face, and he wouldnt disagree.

This forum would be the perfect place to do that, BTW.

Well, to be fair to Ken, you should specify that you're referring to the HDTV Programming forum; it is not the ATSC Programming forum. There seems to be, perhaps deliberately, no forum on that website to discuss non-HD programming. They don't necessarily need to be tolerant of discussions that are off-topic for the charter of the forum, right?

And you're right: This website is a great place to have those discussions.

Its not the HD Programming Forum, its the HDTV Technical Forum. CECBs are a subforum there....which are not HD. That was a less than ideal arrangement according to some. He said that creating non HDTV OTA forum has been brought up, but not persued. I think some people would like to see the promotion of ATSC's other potentials squashed in favor of the highest quality HD broadcasts. These people typically have more than OTA for their broadcast feeds, and see OTA as a way to get a better quality broadcast. It leaves a lot of people out in the cold, who would favor more content choices. We wouldnt want industry people to read about what all those other people want, now would we?

Im not singling out KenH as a villian. He is quite resonable, knowledgable, and pretty mellow.

In fact it could be a niche it excels in, providing a forum for that discussion.
