Default Music Videos, Internet - Share Your Favorites

This is just an on going thread where those that wish to share music videos on the internet can let others know the style they like. Any back ground you have to the songs is also good.

I will start with some stuff by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. The pair got married a few years back and she robbed the cradle, about 10 years his senior.
Susan has several albums out on her own and still records stuff herself, but mainly they play together in the Derek Trucks Band. If the name is familiar he is nephew of Butch Trucks, drummer for the Alman Brothers. If his style sounds familiar his influence, dead before he was born is Duane Allman, that died on a motorcycle back in the 70's.

Here is a YouTube of the Derek Trucks Band covering AnyDay by Eric Clapton, at the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. The fox in the dark blue Blues Dress is Susan Tedeschi, the young guy with long blond hair is Derek Trucks. If the name sounds familiar his Uncle plays drums for Allman Brothers Band. Here is one where the girl plays the guitar. This video gets to me as much as the one above. It's nice to see them in full bandwidth off the DVD. They cover Junior Wells song Little by Little. Notice how she is a little stiff and nervous at first, then does some nice guitar stuff pulling the crowd to their feet after which she rips and shows off how she can really play guitar.

One of my favorites is still GNR Don't Cry music video, Since MTV and VH1 stopped playing videos like they once did I don't see many anymore. Don't have Fuse or music videos on demand I am left to you tube searches. Find some great classic stuff there

Default Walter Trout cover Robert Johnson's "Dust My Broom"

Here is one Shortbus (different forum) sent me recently. I liked it.

Here is a clip of him playing in Amsterdam.

Then if you want to hear the guy that wrote the song (1930s) here is the original recording.

Default Don Henley - Dirty Laundry

Don_M here PMed me this video recently and it's a good one to share and plays into the thread about "Excessive News".

Don_M added this note to help explain why Don Henley wrote this song:
If you haven't heard it before, I think you'd absolutely love "Dirty Laundry," a rare anger piece Don Henley wrote in 1982 after the L.A. media (wrongfully) dragged his name through the muck in yet another of Tinseltown's endless sex scandals. This was his answer: "We all know that cr@p is king, give us dirty laundry!"

YouTube - DON HENLEY - DIRTY LAUNDRY (HQ)

This actually loads in standard definition, in case like me you are on a slow computer.

.....nevermind, good music stopped when grunge went out of style. I have a lot of 60's and 70's favorites too. If I have time, I'll post more vids.

That's amazing, across the board Duran Duran and Soundgarden (though I have some of their CDs) I don't like across the board, but certain songs. You picked two of my favorite songs from those two.

Now I could be way off, but it would seem if you liked them Green Days stuff since the 90's would at least be in the same genre? Or I am that out of date? I like a lot of Green Day songs.

After the mid 90's I stopped following Pearl Jam and Bush the I listened to a lot for their first couple albums each. No one understood with my true love of blues and blues rock how I could turn Bush up and to almost blowing the speakers. My tastes are so eclectic I can't describe them. If someone is good, then I generally like the song. I extend from Folk Music near the turn of the 20th century, to 1930's black blues morphing into the Jump Blues bands and the white rendition of it Big Band music. However I like small what was called Jazz bands back in the 50's and 60's when I was around to hear it live.

I still don't like Elvis much. I didn't like Little Richard back when he as current but do now. The Beatles were cool, but once I heard Blues Rock from the Rolling Stones, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds I was hooked and followed those musicians through their many other bands.

Sadly many of my favorite guitar players died young, Duane Allman, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Though Derek Trucks is like hearing Duane Allman reborn.

Ok, enough for now. I could keep going into the 70 and up but save it for another post with music.

I saw Green Day in Concert back in 96 or 97 in L.A. Was a huge fan of theirs until they became a little too politically opinionated on their later albums. Like their new stuff this year though.

Was a big fan of Pearl Jam, but they started to get boring around 2000-2002. Whenever "Don't call me daughter" came out, can't stand that song.

Beatles and the Stones are my favorites from the 60's, but the 70's Disco is some of my "hidden" favorite music collections. I'm a closet Disco listener. lol

That song is so familiar! Definitely not the kind that would have received a lot of air play back in the 80's. Weird video though!
