    Redbox Instant coming to Roku?

I've seen some chatter on various forums talking about Redbox Instant maybe becoming available on the Roku as an app? Does anyone have any info on this?

Its probably a long shot, at least for the next months.

Redbox talks of support coming from Samsung, LG, and Google TV devices.

That's too bad, the service selection is low and I don't mind to beta test but we're part of the alpha test community on this one. Just one look at Amazon, Netflix and even services like Crackle for instance demonstrate how flat footed things are today. Best to Redbox in creating a viable service.

I'm in the beta too, and I have to agree. It's more like an alpha. Buffering issues. Limited selection. Very few supported devices. No rooted devices.
And without Roku support, it's going nowhere.

Will Redbox be better than Netflix?

I wish redbox showed us what instant movies they had available so I can make an informed decision if I should give them a try or not. I'm a long time Netflix fan, but have noticed that since Starz ondemand left, Netflix doen't have much quality movies and shows. Netflix's new release list is full of 2 star 1950's type movies. For Redbox to compete, they need to have a better selection of newer movies and shows. Redbox also needs to be agressive on their systems. I have Roku, RCA streamer, and Sony blue ray player playing my Netflix...so far I can't use any of these devices with redbox.

It's going to be sooner than you think. Some internal hurdles were just cleared and I can say no more.
