It works on youtube. I can't go to hulu. My connection isn't fast enough to load those vids and even if it could, it would eat up my 5gb monthly data usage cap very quickly. Maybe someday they'll put some of the auctioned off UHF TV spectrum to good use and get decent internet access to the sticks. LOL

To save a Flash video, I can usually just find them in the browser cache directory. They don't have file extensions, but if I view folder details and sort by type, they're easy to find. I rename them with a shockwave/flash (.swf) extension on the end. I'm using Linux, not windows, so your cache may be different.

Eureka - I had heard about this method but was never able to find the file. I finally got tired of trying to find it and ended up installing FlashGot as an add-on in FireFox. But thanks for the screen shot.

I don't know how to call up my cache directory. I tried a couple of things based on the image you included, but didn't have any luck.

I thought about FlashGot but when I read the instructions and the FAQ it sounded really complicated and dangerous even.

Search your hard drive for: *.cache

That should find the cache folder for Firefox. In some versions of windows, I think it's in your application data folder for Firefox, but not sure. I haven't used windows in years.

I know how to find it in explorer actually, but everything there is labeled text no matter what. I don't get the differentiation between photos and flash etc. Then there are a couple that are part of winrar zips. I think that might be big files or something, but I'm not sure. I'm just too afraid of messing up my computer.

Hulu is too smart. they never store the entire video in local cache; to curb downloading as well as speeding up buffering wait time. Moyea is great with flash but only Youtube stores the whole video in the link. limits the amount of shows i can download because the others require an internet connection up which is 1/2 mile from my home, and i like watching BSG, Buck Rogers and SeaQuest at home. not at a picnic table outside being eaten alive by bugs or freezing in winter at the nearest hotspot

You tube keeps changing things up, too, to make it difficult for people. I guess I can't blame any of these sites for doing that, but at the same time, it's frustrating.

I will tell you a very easy way to download you-tube videos that requires nothing extra. I have tons of saved you-tube videos on both my XP and Vista computers.

When you are on the you tube site watching the video you want, go to your subject line and type KICK between the www. and the word youtube, it will bring up a kick video converter, press the green go button, then right click on the blue "down" button, then click on the "save link as" from the pull down menu, and designate where you want it to go, and wammo you have it....
I have hours of videos saved this way and have been doing it for years.......Randy

I wonder if such a trick works on Hulu and other sites. there's a ton of shows there not on youtube that i wish i could download so i don't have to rely on my intermittent internet connection or my computer's inability to stream (due to hardware constraints)
