Why oh why do we have to do things so much different over here. Imagine a world where all appliances and electronics ran on the same voltage / power adapters and TV broadcast standards were the same. Wouldn't that make everything cheaper?!?!

I need to read more in DVB-T, but my skimming of articles eludes to there being streams for error correction similar to ATSC M/H. But the articles didn't say it was for mobile but for multipath problems.

wonder if that's how all of their shows start? I don't know if that was a pep talk or more of a warning.

The keynote speaker is David Rehr, NAB's CEO and President. "We must aggresively promote this great broadcast medium of the future, because it is great.". Pretty strong statement.

Like they mentioned in the video, it'll be a whole new revenue stream for OTA broadcasters. The guy from Forrester Research was pretty interesting. I guess their is a real concern about user generated content (namely YouTube) cutting into OTA overhead and profit margins.

There were lots of devices on display and functioning at the CES in January of this year. I was just at the DTV Celebration in DC on Tuesday and saw a bunch more functioning in the Rayburn Building. The only hold up on rolling out the products was making sure the the M/H standard was approved by ATSC. The standard is in the final stages and should be approved in August.

Sounds promising. I've been looking for some real world bench mark tests on cell phones with mobile tuners and their battery performance but I'm thinking that this information won't be available to the public until after August as you've mentioned.
