I was just listening to some awesome jazz by a newcomer. I just happened to run across his website. The thing is, growing up, I never really liked jazz much. Lately, though, I've been listening more and more to a local jazz station, and now I find I'm enjoying this guy's jazz.

So, just curious, any jazz lovers out there? Or what music genre is your favorite?

Chuck Mangione and George Benson are a couple of old school jazz players with a smooth flavor. I think Peter Whites Dreamwalk is probably my favorite. Check out their music and let me know what you think.

Billy joel, Hall and Oates, anything 80's and with a keyboard (ahem, my avatar is my amateur bedroom recording studio). Also like a lot of 90's rock.

Ever heard of jazz legend Herbie Hancock? If you're a fan of 80's synthesizers, you have to have heard of him.

Here he is doing some jazz fusion:

Peter White is the only one I don't know here of those mentioned by all of you thus far. Benson is legendary. Masquerade got the attention of folks it might not have otherwise, and he just went with it.

Smooooooth. We have a station out here in AZ, 95.5FM KYOT with a great announcer/narrator (Geoffry Holder) with a deep voice and a tag line, "Smooooootth Jaaaazzzz". You have to be careful when you're driving, it'll almost put you to sleep. Geoffry actually did the narration in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

Lately, the fiance and I have been getting into Deano and Sinatra and most of the Rat pack stuff too. Not sure what it is, but the older I get, the more I prefer laid back/relaxing music.

The server is in Dallas,TX. we player members requests or sometimes play tunes on a "theme" basis. Saturday is Album Day where we play entire albums by an artist. It ia an independent station which means we have no commercials, just station ID's.
