Animal Cruelty -- I just don't get it

We have a local case that really upsets me. Two adults in their 20's found a young dog a couple of days ago, picked it up, attached a little bomb or firecracker to the dog's neck and exploded it. Somehow, through the grace of God, this dog survived. He's recovering, wagging his tail, and making progress, but he's scared, shaking like crazy. A lot of people want to adopt the dog, which is good. Vets say he could be well enough to go to a loving home next week. But I just don't understand people anymore. There was absolutely no sense to this -- none. It's just evil. Personally, I'd like someone to blow up those two so called humans.

Supposedly people who torture and mutilate small animals have a penchant for doing the same to people, just like George Bush and Jeffrey Dahmer did. Hopefully after their slap on the wrist punishment is over those people that did this crime will be watched very closely.

Humans are not much different from animals and some of them are proving it. They will get the same treatment one day.

That's what I choose to believe. This poor dog was still shaking when he went home. As it turns out, he had gotten out of his home when he was picked up and treated so cruelly. His owner happily reclaimed him. That's a pretty happy ending, except I hope Dexter, the dog's real name, is able to put the nightmare behind him and stop shaking.

We are taught that it is ok to harm animals as they are "lesser creatures." Some do this to a greater extent than others. Sad, really.
