A few months back we had a lightning storm from hell. It was fun to watch from the safety of my home but I'm glad I wasn't camping...or a duck.

Those are great pictures. We had a lightning show here a while back that was unlike any other we've had in decades. It was pretty incredible.

I live in NorCal outside the SF Bay. Lightening is rare. even rain is rare. we get most of our precipitation from fog. But when it does storm this is what we get. Averages about 1-2 times every 5 years or so.

i'm sure big, tall skyscrapers act as dandy lightning rods. can you imagine the thunder from the office?

It amazes me that people still get hit by lightning, but they do. It's such a scary thing. I refuse to go outside whenever it lightning's. The worst thing is the dogs because I won't them out, and that can get ... uh, well, difficult lol
