Default Curious George

My kids love this show so much that I went out and bought 4 out of the 6 Curious George dvds so they can watch it whenever they want. However, they still love to get up and watch it at 7 in the morning. I think this version of George is well drawn and very cute. Just my opinion.

It's pretty good, and kind of a surprise for me. I've never seen a commercial studio put out a movie and a PBS show with the same characters before.

I remember when Nickelodeon had a show called Pinwheel which had a short Curious George bit, and for the longest time i always thought of the books as a cartoon series lol!

This is a lot like it, but with better animation but retaining the charming appeal of the books. same with Clifford, although it's off the air since the voice of Clifford died, sadly same thing happened to the Busy World of Richard Scarry when it's creator and founder died.

I like the PBS cartoons, call me crazy, Arthur, Martha Speaks, Word Girl all of those are still fun to watch whether you be a kindeygardner or adult. sadly Nick Jr. is so dag gum annoying any longer that i tuned it out long ago. i wish i could walk into a store and NOT see something in regard to Dora the Explorer for once.

I watch Arthur from time to time - there's a website of adult fans of the series, check it out: ECDC - The Elwood City Downtown Core I helped with some of the earlier stuff. I even have the Actimates ToyAPI dolls. 1 Arthur, 2 D.W.s, 1 Barney (noisy gears) and all the Teletubbies with one radio pack)

I tune to qubo mostly, there's a few ex-PBS shows there: Theodore Tugboat (with Denny Doherty from Mamas and Papas,) Lamb Chop's Play Along, Marvin, the Tap Dancing Horse; Elliott Moose, and Adventures from the Book of Virtues. I enjoy those, along with Gofrette (an imaginative cat has urban aventures in a rural suburban town. Based on the French books.) Maisy and my favorite of that channel: Jane and the Dragon.

Actually Maisy the mouse was a older Nick Jr. cartoon and also Bob the Builder as well, but they were taken off Nick Jr. apparently for being too 'fun' and not educational enough, and replaced by those repetitive annoyances such as Dora the Explorer and Go Deigo Go, the latter of which is a ripoff from Dora, it's one of the characters getting 'his' own show.

Actually in regards to Arthur that show has a few adult-only parts, there was one episode that would escape their target demographic which parodied South Park, Dr. Katz, Professional Psychiatrist, and Beavis and Butthead

Now if some digital sub-channel could revive the forgotten Nick Jr. shows such as Eureeka's Castle, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, Wimzy's House, etc

Or Nickelodeon Classics such as You can't do that on Television, Hey Dude, Welcome Freshmen, Get the Picture, Figure it Out, etc

I remember that episode well - it was the TV Guide contest episode - kids sent in their scripts for an Arther episode, and the winning script allowed them to pick 4 others, wrapping it up in a pretty package. Many of those kids watch mature content stuff, seems like.

How about "Wishbone?" That show was good, kinda like the "Adventures from the Book of Virtues" in a fun way.

Wishbone i totally forgot about that one, here it was there and there it went. that quickly.

Zaboomafoo, and don't forget 3-2-1 Contact, Square One TV (remember Mathman? you can on Youtube lol) ZOOM! and many more.

I wish they'd use the original Reading Rainbow theme, that new one sucks....it's the same show but with a revised and badly butchered theme. the original is also on Youtube. when i first got a converter and discovered they rerun that show a lot on KET ED (their fourth sub-channel) i got to see the one where they did the making of Star Trek: The Next Generation

I went to see the movie with my wee cousin a while ago, and it really brought back some memories for me. Ah nostalgia.

You know, if you look, a lot of kids shows have some adult references to them, some blatant, the rest obscure. You know that one episode of the Powerpuff Girls where Utonium goes on a date? Bubbles gives him a condom.

Let me repeat that for you: Bubbles. Gives. Him. A. Condom.

SpongeBob parodies The People's Court complete with theme and court lingo on that episode where Krabs gets sued by Plankton for slipping on a floor with no 'wet floor' sign. among's many others the dialog would totally escape kids which the show would target. even went into Dating and Prom on that one episode where he dated Pearl

Fairly Oddparents had parodies of American Idol plus the FCC and government had an appearance in 'Microphoney' even though you actually can say 'moron' on the radio. and ass, damn, etc

SO i don't know where they got that obvious error.
