    From the article:

... "As for those who got their hopes up when we mentioned a British theme in the East Room, PBS will oblige July 28 with the next "In Performance at the White House" broadcast, starring Paul McCartney with guests Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Jonas Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Corinne Bailey Rae, Dave Grohl, Faith Hill, Emmylou Harris, Lang Lang and Jack White. Good job! LOL

I'm looking forward to seeing this special. What bugs me is that it's gonna take months for the thing to air.

Default Sir Paul in the East Room

Okay, I caught this last night on SD, I turned on the TV and it was almost over. But thaks to the fact that I have 4 PBS feeds (Plus SUBS!) I was able to tune to another PBS channel (KISU, IDaho Public TV) in 720p almost from the beginning. I think I missed the first 10-15 minutes.

Technically, I was disappointed. The 720p signal had been compressed to allow for 3 subchannels, and the sound was stereo, not 5.1. I have one PBS affiliate that actually broadcasts 1080i (KUED, one of a few PBS stations to do 1080i) with only 2 subs , so maybe they (might) broadcast the show at a later date. If anyone watched this, please inform us, was it in stereo or 5.1? How was the picture quiality? Compressed? 1080 / 720 / 480??

But the Show itself? I WAS impressed. Almost every performance was flawless. Nice to see the White House being not so stuffy, and some folks actually letting loose and acting, well, almost human (even if it was only just a little bit human!)

    EDIT:

Looks like I missed KUED's showing of this. Maybe they will air it again.
