Great Performances is broadcasting Pete Seeger's 90th birthday on August 3 @ 6:30 PM at Madison Square Garden honoring legendary folk singer Pete Seeger on his 90th birthday, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Peggy Seeger, John Mellencamp, Roger McGuinn, Dave Matthews, Taj Mahal, Kris Kristofferson, Richie Havens, Emmylou Harris.

Should be good.

Saw it last night on the local channel after midnight sometime. It was fair. I was never a Pete Seeger fan, though I appreciate his music.

I've never been a Seeger fan either but I'm looking forward to seeing Springsteen and Mellencamp. There's nothing like PBS HD on OTA with the "Great Performances" shows.

Oh yeah, I agree. they use excellent camera and editing on GP. Ok, I prejudice as I said. I am not a big Springsteen fan (not political, I don't like him much) but love Mellencamp. I didn't like them doing Pete's songs.

So so many people I know love Pete's songs. I even felt weird I didn't like them, but I don't.

He was a good entertainer. The times I have seen him, he show and him being there was part of the treat. Like's BB King, he never just plays music. Many others also but King came to mind.
