Quad Cities, IL/IA - DTV Readiness Test on 12/17/2008

Quad Cities, IL/IA – To help viewers prepare for the federally mandated shutdown of full-power analogue television signals, and the transition to digital television on February 17, 2009; stations in the Quad Cities television market have partnered to conduct a market-wide test on Wednesday, December 17, 2008.
Participating stations; WQAD-TV (ABC), WHBF (CBS), KGCW-TV (CW), KLJB-TV (FOX), KWQC-TV (NBC), and WQPT-TV (PBS) will conduct a "virtual" shutdown of their analogue television signals at 6:59pm so that viewers can check their televisions for readiness. The test will last 1-minute and will include on-screen information directing viewers where to find assistance if needed.
