When ET signs off next Wednesday, 13abc will temporarily stop programming on its analog channel. TV engineer Jerry Toth says, "The FCC wanted us to do a test, so the general public would know that they are DTV ready."
Toth is a television expert who understands exactly how this test will work. He says, "At 7:30 Wednesday night for five minutes, our analog signal channel 13 is going to put up a slate and have some audio indicating that if you are receiving this slate with this signal and this audio, you are not DTV ready."
...So remember, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m., you can test your TVs for digital readiness. We will also be taking your questions by phone that night from 5 to 8 p.m. with our panel of DTV experts.
