Default New Channels

In the sticky, I read that new channels would be available. I use Directv and was wondering if I would get new channels also. I've read on various sites that there would be new local channels, but I'm not sure if I would get them also. Currently I do get the local channels. Thanks ahead of time for any insight.

Satellite providers will probably not carry the new local stuff only the minimal major networks that the way it is now in my area there are 39 digital off the air channels and dish carries only eight of those.
