VCR question

I have a 30 yr. old Zenith console but I'm hooked up to a satalite in my building so I passed the tests shown on T.V. BUT , my question is about something I read in my T.V. Guide. Can I still use my Panasonic VCR { 7 yrs. old } to tape a program while watching another? The article said probably not . What do you say ??? Thank you Dee Dee.

off of sat. yes but not off the air your sat box is converting the digital signal to analog for your tv but if you hook it to an antenna it will fail after FEB. 17
