Depends on the station. Some will be shutting off at 12:01 tonight, others later and into tomorrow night.

Midnight 12 June 2009 is the absolute deadline. I've seen commercials stating early afternoon for many stations.

My local news just said they're shutting theirs off in 3 hours! lol, it's like New Years!

just checked our NBC affiliate, they're shutting down at midnight!

By March 15th I think it was, all stations had to file when they were shutting down.

There were 4 category choices.

Midnight to 6 am

6am to noon

noon to 6pm

and 6pm till midnight.

Here are the filings for the analogs I can still see (only for 45 more minutes in a few cases).

Jacsonville, FL
WTLV Early Morning (12:00 AM - 6:00 AM) Nightlight RF12
WJXX Early Morning (12:00 AM - 6:00 AM) RF25
WJXT Morning (6:01 AM - 12:00 PM Noon) RF04

Orlando, FL
WESH Morning (6:01 AM - 12:00 PM Noon) RF02
WFTV Afternoon (12:01 PM - 6:00 PM) RF09
WKMG Morning (6:01 AM - 12:00 PM Noon) RF06

Gainesville, FL
WUFT Morning (6:01 AM - 12:00 PM Noon) RF05
WOGX Evening (6:01 PM - 11:59 PM) RF51

Now a station can choose after filing to shut off anytime during the 6 hour slot they choose.

For example WJXX will shut it down at 12:01am June 12th , 2009, or in about 40 mintues.

WOGX is the other extreme. They said they would be the last light out in the area staying on till 11:59 pm tomorrow.

I wonder if enough of the shut off at the exact same time it would cause a nationwide power bump in the grid? LOL

This is the station thats going to VHF btw. I'm gonna see once and for all if I actually get it or not.

My guess is no, I'll find out in less then an hour.
