Transition already here in L.A.

Several channels have gone off the air during lunchtime today.

Several channels are holding out until tonight.

Channel 28 KCET on digital network has moved to a different frequency, requiring a re-scan.

Pre-transition channel count is 66 digital, with 60 digital as of a few minutes ago.

Will fully test the channels tonight as I make marshmallow treats for a party tomorrow.

Marshmallow treats in the shape of a cat, I'm guessing? The county engineer in this county says two more weeks until he completes the DTV transition fully

I guess I'll put the noise makers, chips and other goodies away for now.

What's your work going to do about getting a converter?

Nah, just plain cut squares. I make them with Cocoa Puffs, Cocoa Crispies, with a little extra chocolate chips melted in the marshmallow. Those disappear MUCH faster than any other recipe I've tried.

They tried a converter, too much RF noise in the break room. Lots of computer wires and concrete in the way- with no hope of installing the antenna outside. The TV could get the low-power analog stations. Many of the low power stations are Spanish, and one is "Home Shopping Network." At least it's something to watch, besides the DTV PSA broadcasts...
