As far as I know (which is limited), the only things that VHF offers is the ability to "go around" hills, trees, and other obstacles, and it's a bit more energy efficient for broadcasters. Both of those points are arguable, and my question is did the stations that transitioned from UHF to VHF do so at a cost to their own viewers?
