Why should taxpayers have to subsidize yet-another-converter-box for you? Contact Magnavox or buy another converter on eBay. Just not a Magnavox.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, there was no provision made in the program for failures. Also Walmart is following the rules not taking it back as crazy as that sounds.

You have a couple of options. Complain to Magnavox. Buy one full price. Look on Ebay to see if there isn't one just as cheap as if you had a coupon or close. Another one is if a neighbor or relative hasn't used theirs or ordered, have them get coupons.

I would be strong with Magnavox, regardless of warranty period. They have had more problems than average in failures.

So yes, you got ripped off, but now you have to fight or find a work around to get what you need.

Maybe taxpayers should be upset that so many of these Chinese boxes failed. That retailers got to sell them with little obligation to the consumer.
