Can I get my home theater to receive surround sound from my hdtv and antenna? Sorry if dumb question.

Absolutely!

If the station is broadcasting in Dolby Digital 5.1, you get that. If they're not, you can drop back to Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound.
