First timer here... so I just bought a Toshiba HDTV and have Verizon FIOS... suddenly the remotes only work when all the lights are on in my basement? Help? did i buy a lemon or is there an infared problem?
heh, that's weird. The first thing I'd start with is replace the batteres on the remote. I bought a DVD player back in the day that had some bad batteries right off the get go. Kind of a dumb question here, but is the infrared eye on your TV within view of where you're aiming the remote?
Where did you buy it from? I say, call the store up and tell them you want to exchange the remote for another, or call the TV manufacture and have them ship a new remote to you for free.
