Default If I buy a new HDTV

do I need cable to get HD? It's expensive enough to buy a new TV but I don't want to spend $80 a month too.

If you like, please visit this page, input address and antenna height above ground level, and share the results with us by including the boldface link on the report that follows the phrase, "If you would like to share these results with others..." (The resulting report doesn't include the address.) That will help us get a better idea of what over-the-air reception challenges you face, and thereby we will be able to provide something more than the very general advice here. Thanks!

If you buy an HDTV, you should be able to receive High Definition signals over-the-air (or as we refer to here, OTA) but like Bicker said, you need to input your address at TV Fool and post your results here to determine which channels you should get and what type of antenna you should use.
