Default New OTA digital networks are coming

Some may not be aware yet but there are new networks popping up on the OTA (over the air) digital subchannels. Here in Dayton, Ohio we now have the "This" tv network which is shown on channel 45.2. They show mostly older movie (most are in color) and late night-early morning they show classic tv series lie Paddy Duke, Mr. Ed, and my favorite the original Outer Limits.

"This" tv doesn't seem to have a website yet but here's a link to wikipedia for the network...

They just started broadcasting at the beginning of november so expect them to grow and reach more markets in the coming months.

Now here's something I'm really excited about. It's another OTA digital network called
Retro Television Network and here's a direct link to their website...
http://www.rtnville.com/index2.html

I hope Retro tv comes to this area soon because that's some great shows there!

Thanks for sharing Tim!

So...it's free? Like over-the-air free? My fiance would love that channel!

we have RTN here in NC. it is pretty cool it's like TV land before reality shows. I like the old westerns on Sat morning, like wagon train and Rawhide etc.

As I understand it Retro is a free over-the-air network.

Cable and dish companies may get an initial bounce of new subscribers from the analogue to digital conversion, but if networks such as 'Retro' and 'This' continue to come on the scene, that may change very soon.

I loved Wagon Train and haven't seen it since I was a kid. Same thing goes for Night Gallery and the Alfred Hitchcock series.

But Wagon Train...that's the one I'd like to see again more than any other tv series.

Wow, that is great. I love those type of shows too. Back when you could watch cowboys and indians shoot it out, without all the gore. You didn't have to monitor every single show your kids watched. Oh well, I guess I was just born in the wrong era.

In my area we don't have any special channels like that. All we have are the basic NBC, CBS, ABC, CW, FOX, ION, PBS

All we have is "Create". A cooking and hobby channel.

we did have a music video channel called "the tube" but they were forced to shut their facilities down because of a lawsuit against them

Here we go again

A friend from Cincinnati sent me a link to a digital subchannel that airs in his neck of the woods on 25.4

http://www.whitesprings.tv/

Looks kind of decent with movies from the 1930's to the 90's and no commercial interruptions. Gotta add that some of those movies can be found in the dollar bin at Walmart but what the heck. I'm sure there's some gems in the bunch and any new subchannel of that genre would be welcomed.

We can't pick it up here in Dayton but it's something more for us to look forward to should it be picked up in this or any other market.
