Default 8 Million Homes Still Not Ready for DTV According to Nielson Ratings

There are a few websites spreading good news about a recent survey done by Nielson Ratings on DTV, which showed that that more viewers are converting to DTV, but at 8 million total homes still not ready, I wouldn't start celebrating just yet!

Broadcasting and Cable kind of tells it like it is, so I'll link to their story: Nielsen: About 8 Million Homes Still Unready For DTV Switch - 11/25/2008 12:49:00 PM - Broadcasting & Cable

There are probably at least 8 million homes that will be out of range.
Channels 2-6 are going away completely, and those were the only
frequencies low enough to reach a lot of hilly rural areas.

Line-of-sight to a transmitter is not always possible.

And roof antennas are not always a solution for everyone either. I wonder how many stations are broadcasting DTV signals at full power? The only statistcs I've been able to find for broadcast numbers are at the dtvanswers.com webpage.

Some people can't have an outdoor antenna. I live 30.8 miles from the major city (Boston, MA). All the transmitters are located in Needham, Mass.

After febuary I will only get 1 channel or nothing at all. No more tv for me I guess.

They need to go FULL POWER so that the issue will go away.
