8 Million Homes Still Not Ready for DTV According to Nielson Ratings
There are a few websites spreading good news about a recent survey done by Nielson Ratings on DTV, which showed that that more viewers are converting to DTV, but at 8 million total homes still not ready, I wouldn't start celebrating just yet!
There are probably at least 8 million homes that will be out of range.
Channels 2-6 are going away completely, and those were the only
frequencies low enough to reach a lot of hilly rural areas.
Line-of-sight to a transmitter is not always possible.

And roof antennas are not always a solution for everyone either. I wonder how many stations are broadcasting DTV signals at full power? The only statistcs I've been able to find for broadcast numbers are at the dtvanswers.com webpage.
