DTV Readiness Tests this week
Looks like there will be a lot of tests this week in:
Boston, MA
Phoenix, AZ
and Conneticut, MA
What do you guys think about getting threads going on the different areas and for notification of when these tests will occur. It would be nice to have some cooperation with news stations too. |

Looks like Atlanta, GA is having a test on Monday, 12-8-08:

11Alive and MyAtlTV will conduct a DTV readiness test next Monday, so that you can see if your television set is ready to receive television after February 17, 2009.
The test will take place at 6:58 a.m. -- at that point, both television stations will turn off their analog television signals.

Michiganguide.com reports the following DTV soft tests in Michigan this week:

Starting Tuesday, December 16th in Detroit and Wednesday, December 17th in Grand Rapids there will be a series of tests aired by local television stations to help assist viewers in determining if their televisions are ready for the February 17, 2009 conversion to DTV.
In Detroit, WJBK TV 2, WDIV TV 4, WXYZ TV 7, WMYD TV 20, WUDT TV 23, WADL TV 38, WKBD TV 50, WTVS TV 56, and WWJ TV 62 will all participate in the tests that are scheduled to run every Tuesday through Feb. 17 at different times in an effort to reach as many people as possible with varying viewing habits.

Wickedlocal.com reports the following DTV readiness tests in Massachusetts (and it's a big test! All stations are required to particpate according to the article) this week:

BOSTON - To help viewers prepare for the shutdown of full-power television analog signals and the transition to digital television on Feb. 17, all 26 Boston market broadcast television stations and cable providers will participate in a day-long test of the new system on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
‘DTV Day’ is designed to let viewers find out whether they are ready for the transition. From 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., an intermittent daylong crawl in English and Spanish on all channels will direct viewers to WGBH-TV, where they will find complete information about the switchover.
