Default Talk about a nice gift for one of your children!

Patti Deni wanted to surprise her teenage son by giving him his own big-screen TV, so while their new home was being built, she contacted Williamsville, NY–based Stereo Advantage with an idea: Instead of mounting the set to the wall, like everyone else does, she suggested having the TV laid flush across the ceiling.
and what size is the TV?

A 98-inch StarGlas60 display from Stewart Filmscreen was chosen for the unusual project.
I'm thinking about contacting the mother and asking if she's looking to adopt a 43 year old man with a family. Something along those lines...

And what did I get for -my- birthday? Nothin'.

Still, that's a pretty nice gift, but I doubt having it on the roof like that is safe. If it rains heavily, then it could get water from a leak, and bam, huge TV is no more.

The TV was flush mounted into the ceiling, not the roof top.

I'd hate to have a setup like that, you'd have to lay in bed to watch TV or play a video game. Imagine trying to play the Wii on it?

I know it's not on the roof top, I mean rain hitting roof, leaking into attic, coming down on screen.

Personally, I would be physically unable to be under it for any more than 5 seconds, I have a nasty fear of accidents waiting to happen.

Well, I don't know if I could handle it, either, but I sure would like to try. It sounds like she had it engineered for safety. I think I could lay in bed to watch tv.
