Syrian-born actor Michael Ansara has passed away on July 31st at the age of 91. The cause of death has not yet been released, though his one-time publicist Michael B. Druxman said it was from a prolonged illness. Place of death was Ansara's Calabasas, California home.

With his deep voice and dark looks, Ansara was often typecast in Native American roles, especially after starring in the 'Broken Arrow' TV series in 1956. In fact, he had said that when the program ended he did not work for two years.

They had one son, who unfortunately died of an overdose in 2001. While married, the acting duo appeared together on three episode's of Eden's 'I Dream of Jeannie' TV series. A lovely montage of their life together was done by a fan on YouTube and appears below.

Prior to Eden, Ansara was married to actress Jean Byron ('The Patty Duke Show'). He is survived by his third wife, actress Beverly Kushida, whom he wed in 1977.
