Season 4 of HBO’s popular fantasy series, ‘Game of Thrones’ is set to debut on April 6th. The coming season promises to include more excitement, death, and action-packed scenes than the previous three seasons which sucked in most fantasy fans into watching the epic show. This promise should prove exciting to watch since many who had read George R.R. Martin’s books did not expect the number of deaths of major characters that occurred during the violent, Red Wedding episode that finished out season 3! Perhaps one of the most addicting characteristics of the show is the fact that there is no guarantee on any given episode whether the “villains” or the “heroes” prevail on any given day!

Season 4 of ‘Game of Thrones’ is “loosely” based on the second half of Martin’s ‘A Storm of Swords” novel. This is the third in the book series that HBO bases the TV series upon. The producers of ‘Game of Thrones’ do take the liberty to move the novel’s story lines around (and even change them) to make the best TV series as possible. Although the series has garnered a broad, international base since its first release, it does commonly receive criticism for the use of nudity and violence.
