1000 (DTV) is currently not available - DirecTV

Two days ago, I installed another HR44 to replace a defective HR44. This one has addressed the problems of the previous one (need to reset several times a day) but am experiencing problems with the browse and search function. When using and looking for TV shows, the msg says to check back in an hour. When trying on demand, it says it's not available. The systems shows being connected to the internet. Other posts indicate that it might take a week before that function is active. Why would that be?
