2014 Selection Sunday Show to Air March 16

#1
The 2014 Selection Sunday Show by CBS is set to air on March 16th at 6PM EST or 3PM Pacific Standard Time. The show will include the first announcement of the matchups, seeds, and schedule for the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Florida Gators are expected to be the overall #1 seed for this year’s tournament independent of the results of the 2014 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Other favorites to land a #1 seed during the Selection Sunday broadcast include Wichita State, Michigan, and the Arizona Wildcats.

Participating in the Warren Buffet Sponsored ‘Billion Dollar Challenge’

Every season sees a large number of NCAA Tournament bracket contests available through popular sports sites such as ESPN, Fox Sports, and Yahoo. For 2014, Buffet has teamed up with Quicken Loans and Yahoo Sports to offer 15 million sports fans a chance to win a billion dollars for the person who can choose a perfect NCAA Tournament bracket. The odds of randomly picking a perfect bracket without any basketball knowledge is roughly one in 9,223,372,036,854,775,808. Fans can improve on their odds by employing some basic bracketology rules such as the fact that no #16 seed has defeated a #1 seed in the history of the tournament. Your odds at winning the challenge can be improved to roughly 128 billion to one by applying basic basketball knowledge to your bracket challenge entry.

How Do You Enter the Billion Dollar Challenge?

First, there are only 15 million entries permitted for the challenge. You must go to Yahoo Sports to register for the challenge (if you don’t have a Yahoo account, you will be required to create one as part of the registration process). Additionally, you will have to enter a phone number to help you confirm your entry with Yahoo and Quicken Loans. Once you have a confirmed entry into the contest, you will have until 1 am EST on Thursday to complete and submit your 2014 NCAA Tournament bracket.

In the event no contestant has a perfect entry in the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge, Quicken Loans will award $100,000 to the top 20 overall bracket entries. Buffet has gone on record stating that if someone does beat the odds and have a perfect bracket as we enter the later stages of the NCAA Tournament, that he might have to make them an “offer they can’t refuse” before making it to the NCAA Championship game. If someone does enter a perfect bracket into the contest, turns down any Buffet buy-out offers, then he or she can either accept a one-time lump sum payment, or annual payments to enjoy their new winnings.
