4k upgrade question - DirecTV

Called directv about upgrading to 4k on our 4k ready TV. Right now we have a Genie, older DVR and a wireless client. Was going to move the Genie to another room and get rid of our old DVR. Was going to add the 4k to the 4k ready tv in our family room. Wanted to keep the wireless client for other TVs in house.. After spending 45 minutes on the line to upgrade I was told that I could not keep the wireless client and that I would have to change it to a 4k client that is not wireless even though it will not be connected to a 4k tv. Wanted to know is this true. Can I not keep the wireless client. Want to make sure this person was correct because sometimes you seem to get different stories from different people.
