I remember Days Of Our Lives when I was a child. I lived with my mom and grandparents. In the afternoon I would take a break and flop on the sofa. My grandmother would turn the dial to DOOL. Like Sands Through The Hourglass...so are the days of our lives. I recall the graphic was an old hourglass with flowing sand. Sounds depressing.

[h=2]Actress Who Has Been Playing the Same Character on TV for 21 Years -- Since She Was 16 Years Old -- Calls It Quits[/h]
An actress who has portrayed the same character on a long-running series for 21 years is leaving the show. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” made the announcement during an appearance this week on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Sweeney grew up on TV, starting on the soap when she was 16 years old. She said she will leave after the end of this year.
“I've been on 'Days of Our Lives' since I was 16 years old, and I have never had more than a two-week vacation in that whole time," she said.
Sweeney added that while she loves the show, the character and the fans, she wants to spend more time with her children, who are now 5 and 9.
Sweeney won’t be leaving TV, however, the story notes. She has also worked as the host of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” for the past seven years.
She said she isn't sure how her character will leave the show. “It would be awesome to have some sort of happy ending, but then I also think maybe Sami deserves some sort of twisted, 'Breaking Bad' ending,” she said.

Ahhh, there it is, the Breaking Bad reference :) I'm sure we'll see some type of media-hype up to her leaving the show. I still can't believe that she is leaving Days of Our Lives!!!!

Anyway, on the Breaking Bad reference, is Hulu or Netflix better to catch up on old episodes of the program?

Well, let's see if she actually goes first. Apparently, it's a long way off from happening - 2015 and a lot can happen between now and the end of the year. I don't watch DOOL really but I have followed it from time to time. Never ever liked the Sami character. It is unusual to see a character age naturally although Sami was a young teen I believe when AS began. General Hospital has probably the most successful 'child to adult' character -- Robin Scorpio Drake, played by Kim McCullough. I actually remember when she was like 5 years old and performed a little song during a fan club gathering. She's one of the few who began on a soap as a child and still plays the role today as an adult with a child of her own.

I'm quite sure that the best tplace to catch up on old Breaking Bad episodes is Netflix.
