The brilliant and vivacious Eydie Gorme has died it was reported today. Gorme, known for performing alongside her husband Steve Lawrence, passed away on at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday from an unnamed illness. She was 84.

Full of energy and pep, the full of life Gorme was primarily a singer though both she and Lawrence acted in a number of shows. As a soloist, she was known for her Spanish hit, 'Blame it on the Bossa Nova.'

She appeared regularly on television shows back when musical variety programs were a standard part of primetime schedules. She had numerous appearances on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' and 'The Hollywood Palace'. She did the talk show route often as well, with multiple guest runs on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, for example. With Lawrence, she hosted the show 'The Steve Lawrence-Eydie Gorme Show' in 1958. Gorme was not a stranger to game shows, either, appearing on everything from 'Password' to 'What's My Line.'

As an actress, she was a heckler on a 1994 episode of 'Empty Nest' and played Tweedledee in the 1985 TV movie 'Alice in Wonderland.'

Gorme was always so full of energy and gave all she had to her performances. She had an awesome pair of pipes to belt out big numbers or sing soft romantic pieces.

She is survived by Lawrence and their son, David, a composer who has worked on a number of hit TV shows. Another son passed away in 1986.
