Boxes returned, but remote and cords were not - DirecTV

I recently canceled service and all of my equipment to UPS store. They said they could return the boxes, but they do not need to take and send any of the cords or remote. Paperwork from AT;T says I need to send those. Am I supposed to send those independently?
