You can if you actually out right own the box. If you paid the couple hundred dollars to buy the receiver out right then it is owned and not leased and you can re sell it if you wish. If it is a lease which you pay per month for then if you re sell it it is not really yours to sell and the next person who purchases it will not be able to use the service with that receiver.
