Question: Can I Receive Streaming Video OK With This Setup?

I am currently a cable internet customer and want to set up streaming video capability in my apartment, hopefully with certain in-place components. (I have a pretty tight budget). Here is my setup:

I have a cable internet drop via a Zoom cable modem in my bedroom, connected to my desktop PC, running under Windows 7. The cable internet service has a connection capability of 25 Mbps, with 2.2 Mbps upload speed. I will hook up a Tenda Dual Band N600 Gigabit Wireless Router to the Zoom cable modem shortly...

I don't want to view movies on my PC!

In the living room, I have an XBox 360, 60 GB HDD, Mfr. date 5/12/2009, hooked up to a 23-inch Auria HDMI Model EQ236 LCD Monitor. I want to watch the streaming video in the living room, on the Auria LCD Monitor, via the XBox 360. I prefer not to activate the living room cable drop, as that'd be an extra monthly charge.

I know I'll have to adapt the Auria Monitor with a TV tuner box. I assume (?) the XBox 360 has wireless capability. (I also have a laptop with wireless capability, if needed...)

Thanks for any feedback!

Yes, the X-box 360 has wireless capability, and it can be used for streaming. It can also be used as an extender for Microsoft Media Center on your Windows 7 computer.

I know we have other members who use the X-box 360. Hopefully they will chip in.

I think my next logical question on what you are asking is if you have already tried your setup with no luck and that's why you're asking for help? Or if you are just asking prior to mucking with it?
Just asking to help everyone help you!

DV,
Gotcha. Once you're able to start giving it a go, let us know and will stand by to provide any help you need. Hopefully the TV setup is painless for you!!! Great group on this board that will help you avoid the > 10 hours of realizing you have the wrong cable plugged into the wrong spot, or just the wrong cable to start with, etc!

Back amongst the living!

I have very recent changes to my living-room AV setup. I now have an LG 39" LED TV (39LN5300), that replaced my old non-digital TV, added to the mix.

That said, I'd really prefer to watch streaming video on the LG 39" TV than on the 23" Auria LCD monitor.

My factors are:

a) The XBox 360 is connected to the Auria monitor, not the LG LED TV
b) Can't afford an extra cable Internet drop in the living-room to the LG TV

Given these limitations, can I rig my LG LED TV to the XBox 360 in the LR to get streaming video via my PC in the bedroom?

Thanks for any feedback!
