Can't order pay per view with my remote. - DirecTV

I have recently been unable to order pay per view using my remote. The reason given is because my phone number used to belong to someone who owes Directv $450.00. I have had my phone number for 8 months and we do not owe you money. According to your people, the person who used to have our current phone number must cancel her account or change the number. It is OUR Number now..not hers. It is associated with our account. Why can't you just fix this issue so I can order movies again.
